X1 Temperature Gauge

The face surround is made from plastic to look like metal. Suitable for 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations of the X1.

Gauge's probe inserts into a slot at the top of the boiler to read the boiler's temperature. The gauge does not regulate the temperature it only reads it.

Please be aware that you will have to take apart your X1 to replace the temperature gauge. Front face, steam knob and top have to be removed. However no electrical wires or spade connectors have to be removed, simply unclip the old gauge, pull the probe out of the boiler and fit new gauge. No warranty is available on spare parts that are self fitted.

X1 Ground Spout Pack

Single and double spout.
Push on.
Black plastic.
Suitable for the 3rd generation of the X1 only - (Ground model). Not compatible with 1st and 2nd generation Classic machines. 1st Gen spout is part of the handle. 2nd Gen spout is a metal screw on spout.

X1 Classic/Ground Boiler Element

Brass boiler element. Suitable for 2nd generation brass boiler Classic and 3rd generation Ground X1 (current model). Not suitable for 1st generation Classics with aluminium boiler. If you have a 1st gen machine please EMAILus.

Comprises of element, 230v 1000w. Two rounded rubber washers (o-ring type) and two 13mm fixing nuts. Also supplied is the red silicone ring gasket that rests between the two halves of the boiler, it's good practice to change this at the same time as the element.

If the fuses in your house are tripping when you turn on your X1, it is likely (not certain) that the element has shorted out.

You will have to dismantle your X1 to replace the element. Front face, steam knob, top, electrical spade connectors, four boiler nuts and bolts and the two fixings anchoring the element to the boiler. No warranty is available on spare parts that are self fitted.

1st Generation - Aluminium boiler.

If you have a 1st gen machine please EMAIL us before ordering. Some very early aluminium boilers had a different, smaller heating element that is no longer available. It's best to EMAIL us a digital photo of the top of your boiler so we can supply you the correct element.

This is ONLY Suitable for 1st generation Classics with aluminium boiler.

On/Off Lever switches are available for the 2nd generation brass boiler Classic (pod and ground) and 3rd generation Ground X1 (ground coffee only - current model). Please note they are a different switch. You must specify below the correct item. These are a special order from FrancisFrancis and incorrectly specified switches cannot be returned for a credit. Not suitable for 1st generation Classics with aluminium boiler.

To replace the switches you will need to remove the front face and disconnect electrical spade connectors. Do not attempt any electrical repair work unless properly qualified. No warranty is available on spare parts that are self fitted.

X1 Ground 3rd Generation (current model) and X1 Classic 2nd Generation (brass boiler) only.
Group Head Gasket seals the handle to your machine.
Further info.Please note the Ground machine (3rd Gen.) doesn't have the additional 'o-ring' seals like the Classics do (1st and 2nd Gen.) This gasket sits above and around the group head, sealing your handle to the machine when it is turned into position. Dimensions: 71.5mm diameter and 4mm thick.
Not suitable for 1st generation machines - this uses a different seal.

Inlet pipe and water filter.

Suitable for all X1 generations.
Inlet pipe with attached filter, plus additional pipe to replace the overflow/return pipe. The overflow pipe is supplied so you can cut to size after installation. The filter was introduced for the 3rd generation machine, but is perfectly compatible with the 1st and 2nd generations.

To replace the pipes you will need to be inside the machine, remove the front face and top. Do not attempt any electrical repair work unless properly qualified. No warranty is available on spare parts that are self fitted.

Descaler for espresso machines - 10 individual sachets.

For use in all FrancisFrancis machines.

Dissolve contents in 1.5 litres of water and pour the solution into the water tank. Switch the machine on and make the water run for 3 cups. Wait 15 minutes and then repeat. Now wait 5 minutes and repeat. Repeat every 5 mins until tank is empty. Rinse out water tank and fill with fresh clean water. Repeat the procedure, this time with water only (no descaler added). Descale every second month to keep your machine in tip top shape.

The build up of scale can seriously damage your machine, the pipes, boiler and element are all at risk from furring up. Please note - FrancisFrancis state that faults and problems caused by the continued build up of scale, and therefore the lack of de-scaling, are not covered under warranty.

Cleaning tablets for the extraction chamber - 12 individual tablets.

For usage in the 3rd generation Ground machine.

Remove handle from machine, place tablet in handle and replace handle. Place a container below handle and turn on coffee switch for 20 seconds. Wait for 1 minute, turn the handle from side to side to clean the area and the seal and then turn on coffee switch again for 20 seconds. Repeat process a further 4 times. Ensure there is no residue left inside the handle, clean with fresh hot water. Replace handle in machine.
